MZAZA: The Birth & Death of Stars

Brisbane-based MZAZA are back by popular demand after a sell-out season at Brisbane Festival, performing for one night only at Brisbane Powerhouse on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

The multi award-winning world music favourites will present their critically acclaimed show The Birth & Death of Stars, based on their award-nominated album of the same name.

Drawing inspiration from history’s philosophers and astronomers, MZAZA will lead the audience on a surreal voyage through the ether to explore what links us to each other and the world around us.

A combination of music and theatre, the stunning multi-media performance is a powerful collaboration of creative minds featuring director Benjamin Knapton, Finnish animator Laura Matikainen and writer Pauline Maudy.

So, take a step away from the everyday and contemplate your place in the universe to the sounds of some of Australia’s most uniquely diverse musicians, storytellers and composers, when MZAZA perform at the Brisbane Powerhouse.
