Kalbar Sunflower Farm Visit
Sunflower Farm Visits are on again which means it’s time to get out into the country and get up close to the happiest flowers in the world.
About an hour and a quarter's drive south-west of Brisbane, the farm will be open for sunflower visits from October 31, 2021, when the six-acre patch of flowers (that’s around 80,000 flowers) begin to bloom.
Meandering around the massive field of flowers, you’ll find lots of photo opportunities to enjoy, so pack the camera and charge the phone… this place is definitely Insta-worthy.
There’ll be a number of food vans and coffee available, and you can’t go home without checking out the Sunflower Shop for all things sunflowers - from seeds to hats to Fresh as a Sunflower candles and more.
This year, it will be pick-your-own sunflowers, with cutters and buckets available for hire for $5 on the day. These will be in high demand so if you can bring your own, please do. The sunflowers will then be at $2 per stem.
You will need to pack an esky or bucket to keep your blooms fresk on the drive home, so make sure you remember one.
It’s important to remember that there will be bees out and about in the flowers as well. Plus, its a working farm and closed in footwear is advisable.
Sessions are morning or afternoon, and children under 16yoa are free.
There’s heaps of parking available, with friendly volunteers directing you on the day. And, if the weather turns bad, the organisers will be in touch with you direct.
Nice to know - You’re welcome to bring your four-legged bestie, but they must be kept on a leash at all times.
Need to know - Check the website for dates of time of the extra activities. These will book out fast, so get in quick!
