I Like Ramen

Fortitude Valley

I LIKE RAMEN HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED IN FORTITUDE VALLEY AS OF OCTOBER 2019.

I Like Ramen in Fortitude Valley is Brisbane’s first and only vegan ramen bar, dishing up big bowls of bone-free broth and slurp-worthy noodles.

Taking over the kitchen at The Flying Cock on Brunswick  Street, I Like Ramen is the second location for this Gold Coast based eatery.

Diners can dig into plant-based bowls of ramen and delicious Asian-inspired side dishes in the funky, dimly lit, industrial chic space or at big tables on the footpath overlooking Brunswick Street.

There are several different ramen bowls to choose from, ranging from housemade miso broth with vegan chick’n strips and seasoned broccoli, to spicy kimchi broth with housemade kimchi and fresh tofu, and shiitake and soy mushroom broth topped with sliced mushrooms.

Why settle for plain ramen noodles when you can have spinach noodles served in vegetable broth with fresh bok choy and wakame or activated charcoal noodles served in cauliflower and onion broth with crispy beetroot and charred corn.

All ramen bowls are finished with a tasty selection of toppings like spring onions, fresh sprouts,  fried shallots, chilli threads, roasted seaweed and sesame.

Sides include I Like Ramen’s popular panko crumbed mushroom and kimchi bao, agedashi tofu served in shiitake dashi and steamed Asian greens with a garlic soy and ginger dressing.

Drink wise, there are vegan-friendly organic wines,  beer on tap, tinnies, and organic kombucha.

*Opening hours correct at time of visiting in October 2018.
