Gardens Theatre Qut
After sell-out seasons around the world, beloved children’s fantasy tale and monster hit The Gruffalo returns to the QUT Gardens Theatre QUT from March 10-17.
Adapted from the Gold award-winning book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, the enchanting musical stage adaptation, which has been the toast of London's West End (and winner of Sydney Theatre Awards Best Production for Children 2015), will dazzle audiences with brand new sets and costumes.
Full of laughs, songs and fun for children aged 3 and upwards, The Gruffalo features a trio of bright new performers who will fill the forest with colourful characters and toe tapping, sing-along songs.
Young audiences will delight in following the monster story of the clever little Mouse trapped in a forest full of scary predators. While she manages to scare away hungry creatures including the wheeler-dealer Fox, the eccentric Owl and the party animal Snake with her invented tales of the terrifying Gruffalo, she doesn’t count on coming face to face with the very monster she created.
In a nutshell - This show from Tall Stories & CDP vibrantly reinvents this delightful tale through its signature style of bold, multifaceted storytelling.
Nice to know - From the critics - "It beautifully captures the magic of Donaldson and Scheffler’s adored modern classic" (The Observer); "Funny, charming and smart... brings the house down" (The Sydney Morning Herald), and "While your children are having a whale of a time... you will too!" (The Courier Mail).
Need to know - Children 12 months and under are free, when seated on a parent’s or carer’s lap.
