Global Fusion - Spain to Mexico
Thomas Dixon Centre
Journey from Spain to Mexico as the Thomas Dixon Centre presents Global Fusion - an evening of music, food and dance, this Saturday, September 10, 2022.
A vibrant feast for the senses, Global Fusion shares the stories of Spanish and Mexican heritage (Herencia), and the fusion of cultures through sounds, flavours and movement.
Enjoy the sounds of The Herencia Collective, a powerful and igniting musical experience, fuelled by a cross-cultural madness which defies music stereotypes.
Featuring Kelly Jensen on violin, Gustavo Colmenares on bass, Glenn Minto on trumpet, Joe Chow on percussion, Vicente Perez on guitar, and lead by BEMAC Producer Nelson Mansilla on guitar and voice; each artist brings their individual charm and enormous experience, and together, they posses an on-stage presence and flair that will captivate audiences.
The vibrant music program is complemented by an exciting selection of dance artists including Flamenco dancer Diego Perez, Mexican dance group Mexico en la Piel, plus works choreographed by Queensland Ballet Creative Associate and Global Fusion Curator, Rani Luther, for former Queensland Ballet dancer Sarah Thomson and Jayden Grogan.
