GERMAN SAUSAGE HUT IMBUSS HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

Anyone who ever worked or shopped at the old Myer store when it lived on the opposite side of Queen St from its current home will remember crossing from the women’s section to the men’s section via Burnett Lane.

Today - and who would have thought? - that old entry to the men’s store is occupied on one side by this little German sausage hut, which made its name at the Farmers Markets and has since opened this hole-in-the-lane as a permanent source of the best German hotdogs in town.

Diners can choose from four hot types of sausage fillings – the crowd-pleasing bratwurst, cheese kransky, frankfurter or the lesser known but highly recommended spicy debriciner, all served with mustard and spicy sauerkraut.

For the sausage-averse there are traditional fresh baked pretzels on offer too.
