A Christmas Carol

Playhouse Qpac

Charles Dickens’ classic, A Christmas Carol, is coming to Brisbane this festive season in a world premiere playing at QPAC from December 7 to 20.

The much-loved Christmas story comes to magical life on stage in this brand new theatre production presented by shake & stir theatre company, renowned for their innovative adaptations of popular fiction.

Following their recent page to stage co-productions with QPAC, including George’s Marvellous Medicine and Dracula, audiences can expect a spectacular and surprising reimagining of this Christmas classic.

A timeless tale about compassion, forgiveness and redemption, A Christmas Carol commences on Christmas eve.  Ebenezer Scrooge is spending his night like every other – hunched over his coals, counting his fortune and cursing the happiness of others – until a few unexpected visitors come knocking on his door...

Directed by award-winning Michael Futcher and adapted for stage by co-Artistic Director for shake & stir theatre co Nelle Lee, the stellar cast includes acclaimed Brisbane actor Eugene Gilfedder as Scrooge.

Featuring live musicians, yule-tide carolling, lavish costumes and snow, A Christmas Carol is a must-see show the whole family will enjoy.
