BEN'S ALIBI HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
Brisbane's only Moroccan restaurant, Ben's Alibi can be found hidden in the unlikeliest of places – the terrace of Brisbane Magistrates Court.
A little oasis of rugs, Moroccan music, ornate mirrors and cushions, Ben's Alibi brings a welcome touch of exotica and culinary variety to the law precinct.
On the delectable menu (a mix of traditional and Oz blended for the office fraternity) are lamb tagine or spiced lentil pies, Moroccan seasoned lamb bolognese, Persian or Lebanese Fattoush salad or the signature tasting platter, all served on decorative traditional plates.
Other faves amongst the regulars are the Moroccan pizzas (think mozzarella Cheese, argan oil and organic herbed Moroccan lamb sausage from Kilcoy) and the Alibi sandwiches (roast lamb with dukkah, tomato and Bocconcini).
Weekday mornings Ben is open for a Moroccan breakfast – think mint tea, amiou and Arabic bread – and on Friday afternoons things crank up a notch with tapas plates, cocktails and live music.
Otherwise drop in any time for a Campos coffee and a slice of sweet heaven with home made baklava or cakes from the Welsh Lady.
