Destination Scenic Rim has teamed up with Tommerup’s Dairy Farm to host their Autumn #buyfromthebush Market, a chance for city folk to meet their country cousins and experience the best that this picturesque region has to offer.

Just over an hour from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Tommerup’s Dairy Farm is nestled in the Kerry Valley at the Scenic Rim, the perfect destination whether you’re looking for a Sunday drive from Brisbane or a weekend away.

Autumn Market Scenic Rim

You’ll be spoilt for choice when stocking up on local produce and goodies, with a range of businesses hosting stalls at the markets. There’ll be Running Creek Beef, Brent Randall Photography, chutneys and relishes from Kooroomba Gully, luxurious and locally inspired soaps from Coco & Myrtle, fresh produce from Kengoon Farming (the fresh corn sold out in the first 30 minutes at the last markets), wines from O’Reillys Canungra Valley Vineyard, Moshki, El Kasmore Alpacas products and Tommerup’s Dairy Farm’s creamery products including their ice creams, butter and crème fraiche.

Tommerup’s will also be opening up their sixth generation dairy farm to guests, allowing visitors to meet their farm animals and even get the perfect selfie with their photogenic calves, pigs and chooks.

Following on from the success of the inaugural #buyfromthebush Market in the Scenic Rim at Christmas, Kay Tommerup from Tommerup’s Dairy Farm wants to remind people that despite the recent (and very welcome) rain, it’s an area that still needs support.

 “After the terrible bushfires over spring and summer impacting a lot of our country (including the Scenic Rim) and the ongoing drought we’re facing, it’s fantastic to see initiatives like Buy From The Bush, Empty Esky and Holiday Here This Year pushing people to visit the areas who have been impacted,” Kay said.

“We want to welcome previous visitors back and encourage others who may not realise that we’re on their doorstep to come and do their shopping here, get to know your farmer, shop local and spend some quality time in the Scenic Rim with family and friends. Come and fill up those empty eskies!”
