Australia Independent Film Festival returns to Brisbane bigger and better, showcasing the very best Australian and international short films, documentaries, animations and more, screened in one of Brisbane's most glamorous cinemas - the historic Elizabeth Picture Theatre.

Join filmmakers and film lovers for Brisbane's biggest celebration of independent cinema with multiple screening sessions from September 18 and 19.

AIFF 2020 will begin with a bang. Opening night on Friday, September 18 will celebrate the festival's Australian short films and the bar will be stocked, so support these local filmmakers at what will be an incredible evening.

An exciting addition to the 2020 festival is a special master class with Michael O'Halloran, one of Australia’s rising stars of the cinema world. The award-winning Brisbane-based director, writer and producer will bring his extensive film-making knowledge to the table in this up close and personal event on Saturday, September 19.

Also on Saturday, festival-goers will be treated to an afternoon screening of animations, experimental films and short films from some of the world's top filmmakers, along with a special filmmaker Q & A session.

And last, but definitely not least, AIFF 2020 will close with international shorts and awards on Saturday evening.  

Nice to know - Tickets may be purchased for a single screening session or as a festival pass for all sessions. Adult tickets are just $15.
