When Time Stops

A return season of the celebrated work, When Time Stops, is on at QPAC in May, with Expressions Dance Company accompanied by Camerata of St John’s.

Award-winning Natalie Weir provides the stunning choreography for this work performed by Queensland’s own contemporary dance company, Expressions, about a woman’s life flashing before her eyes in her final moments. This commences a haunting journey where the floodgates open on life-changing events around the subjects of loss, new love, tragedy and longing.

Expressions Dance Company Artistic Director, Weir, has choreographed many an acclaimed work for her talented team including While Others Sleep, Carmen Sweet, where the heart is, The Red Shoes and 7 Deadly Sins. In When Time Stops, Queensland’s chamber orchestra, Camerata of St John’s will provide the music for the production with the Helpmann Award-winning score by Iain Grandage.

This is sure to be an impressive work, with The Courier Mail describing it as “an arresting, poignant, and ultimately haunting piece of theatre”, while The Guardian called it “an exhilarating experience….a dazzling event”. Bill Haycock has done the design and the lighting is by David Walters.
