Trucks'n'tunes
Beenleigh Artisan Distillers
Trucks'n'Tunes is a unique country-style Sunday session at the old Beenleigh Rum Distillery, now known as Beenleigh Artisan Distillers.
Home to Australia’s first rum distillery (circa 1884) and wearing the mantle of the country’s oldest rum distillery still in operation, the now-artisan distillery also still operates out of the original heritage-listed stone building on the banks of the Albert River, with a spiffy new visitor’s centre attached.
So what better place to spend a lazy Sunday lunch and afternoon than in this picturesque setting just a stone’s throw from Brisbane with live music and a drop or two of award-winning rum from the fully stocked bar and signature cocktails. The distillery itself will be open for tours (charges apply) from 10am-4pm, with the last tour departing at 2.30pm.
Meanwhile popular food trucks Wok'n'Rice, Gunter's Flammkuchen and Boss Bites will be on hand from 11am-3pm for some delicious eats.
This weekend’s session features music artist Dan Hannaford, about who Rhythms magazine says "Rarely do you find anyone who builds from the dust and grit of real life, songs of such power and poignancy – Dan Hannaford is one who does, a true talent, make no mistake”. Dan will be peforming from 12pm-3pm.
