Brisbane Powerhouse

THIS EVENT HAS NOW FINISHED

French contemporary music royalty Nouvelle Vague return to Brisbane Powerhouse on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 for a delightfully danceable edition of So Frenchy So Chic.

Featuring the original line-up of Marc Collin, Olivier Libaux, Phoebe Killdeer and Melanie Pain, Nouvelle Vague are celebrating 15 fantastic years together with a return to their artistic roots. As such, their show features an acoustic guitar, a few keyboards, a smattering of ambience, and two singers who interpret the band’s iconic songs.

Known for their innovative reworking of such songs as 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' (Joy Division), 'Guns of Brixton' (The Clash) and 'The Killing Moon' (Echo & The Bunnymen), this beloved French act has something very special planned for Brisbane audiences.

So Frenchy So Chic

Brisbane Powerhouse Artistic Director Kris Stewart is excited about the return of Nouvelle Vague following their sell-out performance in 2017. “Their formula is genius in its simplicity – classic English punk and New Wave songs given unique bossa nova arrangements with French accented vocal talents,” he said.

So Frenchy So Chic

Make sure you don’t miss out as this talented band take audiences on an unexpected journey through their rich, musical history of popular culture.
