kookaburra river queens

Brisbane’s iconic Kookaburra River Queens are one of Brisbane's Must Do experiences for locals and visitors alike. Launched in 1986 and 1988, the River Queens were based on Mississippi paddlewheelers; the first to be built in Australia, crafted from Queensland timbers including ironbark, oregon, spotted gum and white beech. Popular during Expo 88, the riverboats have retained their nostalgic charm and offer a unique dining experience for tourists and locals alike.

This Riverfire 2018, why not experience the spectacular fireworks display afloat, on board the Kookabura River Queens. See below for details.*

Kookaburra River Queens

Over the past 30 years the iconic Kookaburra Queen paddle wheelers have filled the river with old-world charm while showcasing Brisbane’s best sights; including the beautiful Botanic Gardens, Kangaroo Point cliffs, Maritime Museum, Southbank precinct and the Story Bridge just to name a few. Day or night, you will enjoy the most spectacular views of Brisbane from the water.
