Kookaburra River Queens

Brisbane

Brisbane’s iconic Kookaburra River Queens are one of Brisbane's Must Do experiences for locals and visitors alike. Launched in 1986 and 1988, the River Queens were based on Mississippi paddlewheelers; the first to be built in Australia, crafted from Queensland timbers including ironbark, oregon, spotted gum and white beech. Popular during Expo 88, the riverboats have retained their nostalgic charm and offer a unique dining experience for tourists and locals alike.

This Australia Day 2019, why not enjoy the fireworks from a front row seat on the iconic paddlesteamer or spend a lazy afternoon cruising the river. See below for details.*

Over the past 30 years the iconic Kookaburra Queen paddle wheelers have filled the river with old-world charm while showcasing Brisbane’s best sights; including the beautiful Botanic Gardens, Kangaroo Point cliffs, Maritime Museum, South Bank precinct and the Story Bridge just to name a few. Day or night, you will enjoy the most spectacular views of Brisbane from the water.

For Lunch and Dinner guests enjoy a seasonal contemporary buffet featuring slow-cooked Angus beef, 12-hour confit pork, chicken cacciatore, market-fresh fish, oysters, prawns and more. Weekend lunch cruisers can also enjoy free-flowing bubbles, beer & soft drinks.
