Ghosts In The Orchestra
Concert Hall Qpac
Ghosts in the Orchestra promises to be the most extraordinary concert of the year – a daring work in which the choristers (ghosts) will float freely amongst the orchestra.
The creation of Brisbane composer Gordon Hamilton, Ghosts in the Orchestra endeavours to remove the traditional barriers between orchestra and singer in a contemplation of freedom of speech.
Featuring one of the most celebrated and enduring classics of all time - Berlioz’s masterpiece Symphonie Fantastique and En Saga by Sibelius, the concert also showcases one of Europe and America’s best young talents, Benjamin Schwartz, who makes his debut with the QSO as guest conductor.
And the choristers are from the celebrated and ethereal Australian Voices, of which Gordon Hamilton is also artistic director.
The result is one unforgettable night that any music lover will not want to miss.
