Desire
Qut Art Museum
Brisbane based Artist Judith Wright brings Desire, a must see solo exhibition to the QUT Art Museum, focusing on a ten year series about the tragic loss of her infant daughter.
Following her themes of departure and return over the past decade, Wright produced Desire to imagine and recreate what she perceives the life of her child would have been like from childhood to infinity.
Known for her painting, drawing, sculpture, video and installation, Wright will be featuring a seven-part moving image series that explores the life that could have been.
Another major highlight will be the two installations with a focus on afterlife and her private visions as a granddaughter, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
However the major magnetism in Wright’s work will be found in personal interpretations and the reflection of the viewers’ own journey in life.
The former Australian Ballet Dancer will be spotlighting her private desires with much conviction at the Queensland University of Technology Art Museum in September.
