Colour Masters
Mitchell Fine Art
A striking display of Central Australian Aboriginal artworks in diverse styles comes in the form of Colour Masters exhibition, showing at Mitchell Fine Art Gallery from August 24 – September 17.
Once again, Mitchell Fine Art is leading the way in Brisbane with support for talented Indigenous artists, and as the exhibition’s title implies, Colour Masters features works with bold expressions of vibrant colour throughout.
Country and culture are portrayed and reflected, with a main drawcard being several exquisite works from senior artist, Eunice Napanangka Jack, who hails from Haasts Bluff.
Renowned for her kaleidoscope colour usage, she was recently selected for the seventh year as a finalist in the 2016 Telstra, National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAA), while her work is in major art collections both in Australia and overseas.
Other celebrated Central Australian Aboriginal artists featured in Colour Masters are Emily Kame Kngwarreye, Patrick Tjungurrayi, Judy Watson Napangardi, Kudditji Kngwarreye and Shorty Jangala Robertson.
