Must Do Top 9 Highlights

Australia's funniest comedians are set to descend on Brisbane with their brand-new Brisbane Comedy Festival shows. To save time, we've delved deep and chosen our Must Do Brisbane Top 9 Highlights.

Dave Hughes - Hairy

Dave hasn't had a haircut since last year's Festival. His own fringe is now a face curtain. What has prompted this radical change - is it a crisis? The only way to know is to come along.

Tommy Little - Self-Diagnosed Genius

Tommy Little is a genius. He has the nude bungee jumps, broken bones and terrible tattoos to prove it. He’s about to embark on his most genius-est challenge yet: running a marathon in Antarctica without training and a whole life of no leg weights. It’ll be a cracker of a story… if he lives to tell it. As seen on The Project and heard on hit105 Carrie and Tommy.

Mel Buttle - Welcome Aboard

Brisbane local and festival favourite, it’s Mel Buttle’s pleasure to welcome you aboard. If there’s anything she can do to make you more comfortable today keep it to yourself, she’s got enough on her plate: a break-up, a huge year of international touring and working out how to co-parent a rescue dog with her ex-missus. As seen on Foxtel’s The Great Australian Bake Off.

Dave Thornton - Lean Into It

You might have seen Dave on The Project or hosting The Beep Test every week, but it's live on stage where this whip-smart comic truly shines. Don't miss his brand-new hour.

Nath Valvo - I'm Happy For You

Nominee for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Brisbane's favourite Show Pony is back with a brand new hour. He's spent this past year all over TV and radio, including The Project,Tomorrow Tonight and Nova, and 2018 even saw this layabout score a coveted spot at Montreal's invite-only Just For Laughs festival. Very fancy.

Tom Ballard - Enough

Tom doesn’t have a real job any more. Please come and give him some of your hard-earned money in exchange for the product of laughter. This will help fuel the economy, demonstrate the power of the free market and lead to jobs and growth.

Corey White - X-Ray

Having started his career working Brisbane comedy rooms, Corey went on to win Best Newcomer at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. Now he returns for his second solo show older, fatter and more exhausted. 30-years-old and recently engaged, he’s struggling to be healthy and keep the house tidy. Vacuuming sucks so here’s a bit of comedy about relationships, food, exercise and airplanes – nothing fancy or sad.

Damien Power - Man Puts His Dreams In A Sock

In this hilarious new hour, multi-award winning comedian Damien Power and Brisbane native will delve into our culture of narcissism. He’ll explore how society dictates our greatest desires and dreams. You must be told your dreams by the society you live in, no-one is born with their dreams.

Danielle Walker - Myths & Legends

After selling out last year’s Brisbane Comedy Festival and winning Best Newcomer at this year’s Melbourne Comedy Festival, Danielle is back with more hilarious stories. She likes stories. Like she ‘like likes’ stories. Like she loooooves stories, not in a sicko way though, she just thinks they’re fun. It’s called Myths & Legends because two of her comedy bits are about mythological creatures. For example: Tom Jones = legend, cool dads = myth.
