Big Gay Day

The Wickham

Celebrate everything that’s gay and LGBTI-friendly as well as helping worthy causes at the Big Gay Day street party at The Wickham on Sunday, 12 March.

This welcoming festival, now in its 17th year, will have some fabulous entertainment happening throughout the day, plenty of street food, and three entertainment zones. The VIP area, presented by Pimms, will give you access to meet and greets with some of the acts, complimentary drink on arrival, gourmet BBQ and prime viewing from an elevated side of the stage. Only 200 VIP tickets are on sale, so you’d better hurry for those.

There’ll be some generous contributions made to the LGBTI community, with The Wickham continuing its commitment to donate 25 per cent of the event’s profits to community charities. Groups chosen to receive financial support this year are Queensland AIDS Council, Australian Transgender Support Association of Queensland, Open Doors Youth Service, and Wendybird.

The Wickham will host four ‘karma keg’ events in the lead-up to Big Gay Day, donating all sales for the kegs to the charity partners. They’ll also give 50 community tickets per charity to assist people in the LGBTI community experiencing hardship to get along for the celebrations.
