Enter the Maleny Village Artisan Food Market through the impressive gateway in Maple Street and begin what feels like a magical mystery tour. From pallet themed stalls an interesting mix of stallholders sell fresh produce, great food, plants, antiques, cookies, coffee, specialty teas, fresh flowers, homemade goods and more. And enjoy browsing at Maleny Country Antiques, where antique country furniture, vintage wares, jewellery and textiles can be found.
Making the most of the great outdoors, tables and chairs (some made from the humble pallet) fill the market's courtyard and are hidden away in little pockets and gardens off the laneway. The relaxed feel of this market invites visitors to chill out and enjoy the live entertainment, which completes the unmistakable Maleny vibe.
Then take a leisurely stroll through the market to the back of the laneway and discover Pallet Life Gallery and Cafe, where they claim to "make really cool stuff from old pallets" - and that's exactly what they do. Old pallets are recycled and upcycled by Pallet Life craftsmen to give them a new lease on life as household items, be it in the form of furniture or homewares.
In fact, they create products from anything that can be recycled, upcycled and repurposed. These items are displayed and for sale in the Pallet Life Gallery and Cafe, along with a variety of artwork and giftware. This is the place to pick up something unique and a little quirky.
The cafe menu includes juices, milkshakes, coffee, tea, light lunches, freshly made sandwiches, and sweet treats. On weekends, visitors will find American-style pulled pork sandwiches with homemade coleslaw and beans on the menu. Enjoy a sunny spot inside the red pallet cottage or soak up the market vibe in the garden courtyard.
