Mulanah Gardens B&b Cottages

Kingaroy

Looking to escape the rat race for the weekend? Point the car in the direction of West and head for Mulanah Gardens, Kingaroy.

Roughly a three hour drive will find you at your destination. Break the drive with a stop for lunch and this drive is easy and very enjoyable.

Mulanah Gardens B&B Cottages

The award winning Mulanah Gardens B&B Cottages and Wedding Venue is situated on the gateway to the South Burnett and the Bunya Mountains and is undeniably breathtaking. What’s so special about this spot? There are many aspects of Mulanah Gardens that set it apart from other accommodation choices. Here visitors will find two very comfortable, beautifully decorated and well equipped cottages, situated to ensure space and privacy.

From these cottages, the vista is incredible – looking out over manicured lawns and landscaped gardens to paddocks and farmland and then beyond to the beautiful Bunya Mountains. Just unpack those bags and settle in for a truly special break.

Wood for the fire is chopped and ready to use, music is playing and fresh flowers sit prettily on the table – what a welcome. Travel-weary guests will no doubt appreciate the large spa in the bathroom, complete with candles and rural view.

Barbeques are provided for each cottage and breakfast hampers can be ordered when you book your accommodation. Sunsets here are stunning and when that sun sinks below the horizon, the night sky becomes a carpet of stars.

Mulanah Gardens B&B Cottages

Adding to the charm of Mulanah Gardens is the presence of the cutest Belted Galloway cows, two very friendly dogs, chickens and an endless array of birdlife. The gardens on this property are beautiful and are, no doubt, the reason for the impressive variety of birds residing here. Fairy wrens and blue wrens dart in and out of the gardens whilst butterflies and bees keep busy in the lavender bushes.

Native plants attract lorikeets and various other birds, galahs feed on grass seed, cockatoos perch high in gum trees and magpies and butcher birds warble from their own hideouts. Splashes of colour in the garden beds complete this pretty rural scene, making it a photographer’s paradise.

It’s no wonder that this is a very popular choice for a wedding venue. Beautiful backdrops for wedding photos, very hospitable hosts, a pretty outdoor wedding “chapel” and an all-weather reception area all make Mulanah Gardens irresistible to brides-to-be.

It’s such a pleasure just to “be” here and enjoy exploring Mulanah Gardens. A life-size chess board is hidden in the garden and a visit to Pioneer’s Journey (an outbuilding on the property) reveals a pool table, pioneer memorabilia and a massage therapy room – massages can be booked on site. Statuettes and other curiosities can be found in the gardens and a well placed park bench is the perfect spot to enjoy a beverage and watch the sun go down.

Bench overlooking paddock

There’s plenty to see and do around Kingaroy and a visit to the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre at 128 Haly Street is time well spent. Kingaroy is rapidly becoming a foodie’s delight with wine, cheese, nuts, oils, olives, fudge and much more on offer in this region. If guests are keen to explore, Rhonda and Lindsay (hosts and owners of Mulanah Gardens) will happily recommend must-do options.

Mulanah Gardens B&B Cottages

Nice to know: Mulanah Gardens opens to the public on Sundays for coffee, cake and light lunches. This gives guests the opportunity to relax in the gardens, sip barista-made coffee, appease a grumbling tummy and enjoy the spectacular view across to the Bunyas.

Need to know:  This property is just 10-minutes outside of Kingaroy and whilst it’s not a long trip back into town for provisions, it’s advisable to take your own grocery items with you.
