This is one of those shops you wish you’d taken the time to stop in years ago – the inside a cosy narrow affair with warm wooden shelves containing one of Brisbane’s best although compact collections of second hand books interspersed with the odd new edition (the shop holds about 95% second hand to 5% new tomes).

For lovers of literature, children’s older and contemporary classics and the arts in particular, this place is bookshop nirvana and for those who appreciate a quirky back courtyard to enjoy a Merlo and gourmet toastie it’s a great spot just to drop in to. And as an extended community service well brewed Merlo coffees are available for those who text from 6am onwards weekdays.
