The Finders Keepers is a fabulous 3-day designer event set in the Brisbane Showgrounds, The Marquee, Bowen Hills.
A bi-annual highlight of Brisbane's events calendar, The Finders Keepers is the go-to for cutting edge fashion and accessories, art, jewellery, individual design, homewares, gourmet food and drinks and local music acts.
Local brands to look out for are The Great State's organic skin balm and fashion-forward label Alice Nightingale's delightful new collection. Meanwhile some Finders Keepers luminaries who are making their journey north for the very first time, include Bridget Bodenham, Upswitch, and Dana Kinter Art.
In all, more than 200 indie design and artisan stalls will feature the works of talented artists and designers, including innovative fashion (adults and kids), fine jewellery, hand-crafted ceramics, letterpress stationery, design objects, succulent terrariums and a whole lot more.
Along with live grass roots music acts, the markets are a hub of potential future movers and shakers in the creative world, with a host of new stall-holders peddling their wares for the first time at The Finders Keepers.
More than 30% of stall-holders at this mid-year market will be talented Queensland designers and, in another first for Brisbane, the new Finders Keepers Indigenous Program. The Finders Keepers will be welcoming ‘Yunmi’ to Brisbane, following from the inaugural launch of the program at their recent Sydney event.
One of the most in-demand debut stalls in Brisbane 2017, Magpie Goose are back with a stall three times the size. As the Finders Keepers Artist Program recipient this Autumn Winter season, NT-based Magpie Goose have worked in collaboration with Bede Tungatulum on the distinguishable illustrations seen across this season’s national branding as well as their garments for sale all market weekend. According to Magpie Goose founder Maggie McGowan, Magpie Goose aims are twofold: to share and celebrate Aboriginal art, stories and culture through fashion, while creating economic and enterprise learning opportunities for Aboriginal people in remote Australia.
Shopping sustenance will be available via gourmet and fresh brewed coffee stalls and some of Brisbane's fave food trucks whilst an onsite bar will be serving craft beers, wines and other cool drinks.
With this year's Finders Keepers kicking off at 12pm on Friday, mums with bubs can enjoy a more relaxed pace of shopping before the crowds descend for an after work drink and a delicious bite to eat until 9pm. Shop your way into the weekend, as Finders Keepers will open from 9am-6pm on Saturday and Sunday from 9am-5pm.
Need to know - Dogs are not permitted. There are some ATMs onsite and only some stalls accept card payment. Tickets are available at the gate only - cash, debit or credit cards accepted. Children under 12 years admitted free.
