Nudgee Beach

At the Cabbage Tree Creek tip of the sleepy little sea hamlet of Nudgee lies this mangrove wonderland (whose translated name means ‘place of salt water’) which is far less frequented than the greater Boondall Wetlands across the creek.

Winding through the mangroves for 2km, the boardwalk juts out at several points to reveal magnificent views of Shorncliffe and the turquoise waters of the bay.

Like all tidal walks this one differs considerably between high and low tide, the latter revealing crab colonies and other lively crustaceans.

This is an easy stroller friendly path however it is fairly exposed so a high level of sun protection is recommended.
