Brisbane’s oldest water park dates from the Depression era when the adjacent tidal wading pool (which varies from waist to knee deep) was constructed by the unemployed.

The sea front recreational spot has since been brought into the 21st century with fantastic aquativity in the form of climb-on spouting whales, a modern jetty, a playground featuring climbing nets and the tiny man-made white sand Pandanus Beach.

To dry off, scooter walk or bike south a few hundred metres along the Esplanade park to the next playground or if feeling energetic, onward to Manly Marina.
