Bathers sun baking on man made beach in BrisbaneThe perfect antidote to the corporate bustle of the CBD across the river, Streets Beach with its pristine powder white sand, lifeguards and permanent huddle of sun-kissed bathers has something of the surreal about it.

As Brisbane’s only city beach it takes pride of place in the parklands as a beacon of what SEQ is famous for – sun, sea and sand. And despite an initial hesitance to embrace it, twenty years later it is firmly ensconced as one of the city’s favourite destinations.

Ideal for families with children, its shallow lagoon meanders under bridges and past islets of trees and picnic pavilions until it meets up with the superb Aquativity area.
