E'CCO BISTRO HAS MOVED FROM ITS LONGTIME DIGS IN THE BRISBANE CBD TO NEWSTEAD IN 2018.
Occupying a corner spot in a kind of no-man’s land between the City and Valley is this renowned little bistro, the brainchild of uber chef Philip Johnson.
While the décor is simple and unadorned – plum walls, rugged white-beamed ceiling and minimalist wooden chairs and benches, the food is quietly and masterfully sophisticated.
The Mod Oz cuisine features dishes such as ceviche salad with fresh pomegranate, seared scallops and potato marinara, lamb rack with warm goats cheese salad and confit duck with eschallot rosti. All starters are $24.50 and mains $42.50 which may seem a little steep for a ‘bistro’ but it doesn’t stop the crowds of all persuasions pouring in and returning regularly for more.
