CUSP: Designing into the Next Decade is a fascinating insight into Australia’s innovative ground-breaking designs behind everything from buildings to everyday objects.
Featuring works from 12 brilliant contemporary designers who, via their creativity are meeting the challenges posed by today and the future, CUSP is an interactive exhibition that is guaranteed to stimulate the curiosity and imagination of visitors of all ages. More than an exhibition, it is also a laboratory and a unique opportunity for learning and experiencing new ideas.
Covering everything from data visualisation to social robotics, CUSP showcases some of the most exciting ideas and concepts currently being explored by leading Australian designers.
Solving the global housing crisis, programs to help sick children deal with pain and turning medical devices into coveted objects are some of the challenges represented at CUSP, which comes to Brisbane as part of the nationally touring exhibition from Object: Australian Design Centre.
Highlights of the hands-on interactive part of the exhibition include:
Floyd Muller’s Hanging off a Bar Installation – Test your strength and stamina as part of these fun and creative experiences that take the concept of computer game into a whole new realm and that may well be the future of exercise.
George Khut’s Body-Focused Artwork – Consciously calm your mind and body with the help of this some extraordinary body- focused art that gets animated with relaxing sounds and bright colourful visuals as the subject relaxes.
Chris Bosse – Explore the amazing works of leading sustainable architect Chris Bosse, whose designs of sustainable buildings and future cities are inspired by structures from nature, such as spider webs, soap bubbles and snow flakes.
