Take a peek inside some of Brisbane’s most prominent and landmark buildings for free at the annual Brisbane Open House weekend on July 15 and 16, 2023.

Brisbane Open House celebrates Brisbane’s history and architecture with exclusive events, tours, and a packed program consisting of 80 buildings, spaces, structures and places open to the public.

Brisbane Open House 2022

Over one weekend only, Brisbane Open House gives you the keys to unlock your city, so you can discover the hidden wealth of architecture, engineering, and history in buildings, spaces, structures, and places around Brisbane.

The annual free event will feature a curated selection of historic and contemporary buildings, with everything from heritage-listed homes to cutting-edge commercial spaces - including some of Brisbane's most iconic buildings, popular previous venues, as well as some of the city’s newest projects and best-kept secrets.

Launched in 2022, the ‘Iconic Precinct’ celebrates urban Brisbane spaces, and returns to the weekend’s line-up, this year focusing on the impressive Herston Health & Heritage, incorporating five separate entities within the broader Herston Health Precinct that will jointly participate in the precinct.

Many of the featured buildings in the precinct were constructed during the late 19th and early 20th century, offering a rich tapestry of some of our state’s most impressive heritage buildings. In addition to visiting these heritage gems, visitors can tour state of the art labs, working on Queensland’s most significant health and medical research projects.

“We are delighted to provide a robust and diverse selection for our 2023 BOH program this year”. Executive Director, Melissa Hoedel further comments that “the inclusion of some truly remarkable projects, old favourites and interesting buildings, spaces, structures and places, will provide our passionate audience with so many options. I am personally delighted to see private homes back in our program and I look forward to our program also being activated by music and art.”
