Hunter & Scout

Graceville

Hunter & Scout is Graceville’s gorgeous go to for excellent coffee and top-notch foodie fare, found on a leafy corner in this west side suburb not far from the train station.

This former op-shop has been transformed into a stunning Parisian-inspired bistro inside with exposed brick walls and smart, black bentwood chairs; while outside a spacious, lush courtyard awaits.

The all day menu features breakfast favourites with a twist like  avocado on rye with smoked cherry tomatoes, creamed feta, basil, macadamia nut dukkah & balsamic dressing or  three cheese hash brown benedict with spinach, poached eggs, herb hollandaise.

Sweet tooths will be satiated with the likes of buttermilk hotcakes with cinnamon roasted pear, baked ricotta, blackberry compote & pistachio praline , while hearty appetites can tuck into The Hunter – wood-smoked bacon, pork and maple sausage, blistered cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, roasted garlic croquette, free range eggs and sourdough.

A tantalizing selection of lunch-type dishes includes fried cauliflower and sweet potato veggie bowl with quinoa tabbouleh, crunchy seeds, plumped raisons and whipped garlic tahini, warm salad of spiced lamb shoulder and smashed potato, poke bowl with  soy and sesame cured salmon and seasoned rice, and chicken breast sandwich on turkish with celeriac remoulade, avocado, poppy seed dressing, rocket, crispy prosciutto and beer battered chips.

Hunter & Scout Graceville

Open daily, the kitchen closes at 2:30, however customers can enjoy locally roasted Fonzie Abbott coffee and a sweet treat – cakes, slices and tarts baked by one of Brisbane’s best bakeries Jocelyn Provisions – until 4.

Besides coffee, there are fresh juices like Healthy Start, Berry Berry and Lychee Mojitos (with apple, pineapple and mint). Smoothies include Banana Bender, Miss Mango and You Had Me at Aloha, while classic milkshakes range from vanilla malt and strawberry cheesecake to chocolate oreo cookie.

Note that some menu items may have changed since our visit.
