Lehmo - The Family Lifeboat
Brisbane City Hall
Funny man Lehmo is bringing his brand of comedy to the Brisbane Comedy Festival with Lehmo – The Family Lifeboat, at Brisbane City Hall.
Lehmo – or Anthony Lehmann as he’s known to his mum – is well known to TV viewers for stints on Network Ten’s The Project and Have You Been Paying Attention? as well as playing Jim, the nation builder, in ABC’s clever comedy, Utopia. He’s also a hit on Melbourne’s Gold FM Breakfast.
The Brisbane Comedy Festival has grown so much that it’s branching out of its headquarters of the Brisbane Powerhouse this year, with some gigs taking place in the CBD’s City Hall. The Family Lifeboat is one such show – for two nights only – and will see Lehmo reflect on events in his life, such as how becoming a new dad has raised all sorts of questions for him. For instance, can you leave a dog to look after a baby? (Let’s hope not.) And are your cats now less important? (Maybe, but you’d never tell them.)
A relatable and likeable comedian who tells it like it is, Lehmo’s act was described by The Music as “sharp observational humour… refreshingly funny” and by the Herald Sun as “one of those guys you’d love to have a beer with.” He’s headlined clubs around the world and also completed six ‘tours of duty’ to entertain troops in places like East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan.
