It’s a wonderful world of classic Toys at the Workshops Rail Museum this Easter, with children encouraged to get unplugged and release their inner retro child.

The specially set up Toy Zone is the place to forget about new-fangled electronics and enjoy real old school playtime with classic toys, dress ups, games and puzzles.

It’s also a chance for parents and grandparents to take a trip down memory lane with the children at the Fun & Games Display, which features vintage games, dolls and toy sets right through to the 1990s.

For an extra blast from the past, not to be missed is the daily Ehmers Puppet Show full of weird and wonderful characters, presented by husband and wife veteran puppeteers Bernie and Eileen.

Meantime the indoor playground will be the usual hive of activity with rail-themed equipment, books, craft materials and mock-up trains and railway paraphernalia.

And children can also get hands-on making their own wooden toy trains, puppets and origami creations.

Last but not least on April 6th there’s a special Outback Easter Day with country style fun for all the family.
