Sugar Spin For Kids

Goma

Sugar Spin for kids is a fantastic program of free activities to coincide with GOMA’s epic 10th anniversary celebrations and the mega Sugar Spin: You, Me, Art and Everything exhibition.

Highlights are:

HRAFNHILDUR ARNARDÓTTIR: MIRROR MIRROR

Sugar Spin media suite

‘Mirror Mirror’ is an immersive project developed in collaboration with New York-based Icelandic artist Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir (aka Shoppy). Shoppy creates spectacular artworks using vibrantly coloured artificial hair. She believes that hair can inspire great personal creativity, allowing each of us to express who we are to the world. Inspired by the artist’s colourful, tactile practice, young visitors can create their own extraordinary paper hairstyles and style a wall of artificial hair. Gallery 1.4 Nov 19-Apr 17

NUSRA LATIF QURESHI: ENCHANTED SPACES

For the first time in a decade, GOMA presents ‘Enchanted spaces’. Pakistani artist Nusra Latif Qureshi introduces young visitors to the traditional South Asian technique of Mughal miniature painting, inviting them to work with animal and floral motifs to create their own personalised drawing. Outside the Research Library, Level 3. Dec 3-Apr 17
