Brisbane Mexican Festival
Roma St Parkland
The Brisbane Mexican Festival turns Roma St Parkland into Mexico for one whole day this Saturday from 9am till late.
The lively colourful festival, which features an authentic mix of Mexican food, folklore, music and events was started 10 years ago when a group of Mexican expats and Australian locals gathered for a party. Over the years it grew to a mega one-day celebration of one of the most fascinating cultures worldwide. It is the mix of strong native legends and artistic expressions that also make the Mexican culture unique.
The 2016 program includes live Mexican and Latin music by Chukale, Dj Andres and Sin Frontera Band.
This year’s activities also include:
- Folkloric dance performance by Mexico en la Piel Dance Crew
- Mariachi Concert
- Salsa Concert
- Kids attractions
- Animal farm
- Frida Khalo exhibition and performance
- Lucha Libre (Mexican Wrestling)
- Piñata breaking throughout the day
- 30+ food stalls
