Lone Pine Markets is a twice monthly fresh food and produce market held in the leafy grounds of Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary at Fig Tree Pocket.
The popular community twilight market runs from 4pm until 8pm on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month, with the option of sticking around for a multicultural bite to eat and a free family movie under the stars (Jul 21 - Diary of a Wimpy Kid).
The markets make a great Friday night place to have a browse, restock fruit and veges and enjoy a meal whilst listening to the live entertainment. There are plenty of choices for dinner: Hungarian, Italian, French, German, British, Greek, Asian, Dutch and Indian cuisines are all on offer.
When it comes to stocking the kitchen, the emphasis is, naturally, on fresh and local produce. Buying direct from farmers and growers means produce is fresher, has a longer shelf life, and is more affordable and more sustainable (having less travel time). It also ensures that farmers and producers are earning realistic returns on their goods.
Expect to see: iced teas, fresh flowers, Kingaroy Cheeses, Kyogle beef, Tillari free range pork, ham and bacon, wines and liqueurs, Tasmanian beef and lamb, Sunshine Coast Limes, plants, free range chickens, a huge range of spices, Ugly Food’s tempting baked goods, Leavain artisan breads and pastries, loads of fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh honey, smoked beef ribs, wood-fired pizza, tempting brownies, real fruit ice-creams and so much more.
These markets are a bonus for visitors to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary on Fridays, giving them the opportunity to enjoy the authentic farmers’ market experience.

Nice to know - The Lone Pine Markets are just 13km from the CBD and is accessible by car, bus or a ferry cruise (Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is situated on the banks of the Brisbane River). Parking is plentiful both on the streets and in the Sanctuary’s car park.
