For the most delicious high tea in Brisbane head for this tiny country style tea house in the leafy back streets of New Farm. But first make a booking as space is limited and the owners' stringent policy is that everything is freshly baked and made on the spot.

High teas come in three levels: Elegant ($25pp), Indulgent ($35pp) and Decadent ($45pp) and all include traditional ribbon sandwiches, heavenly straight-out-of-the-oven scones, bite-sized melt-in-the-mouth quiches and petit fours such as miniature Bakewell tarts, Italian Macarons and Choc brownie tarts.

The Indulgent ramps it up with extra petit fours, savouries and desserts while the Decadent is a sweet and savoury extravaganza, including divine canapes, a chocolate and caramel pot with biscotti and artisan house made chocolates (Rocky Road, fudge and to-die-for truffles).

And no need for children to miss out – a special old-fashioned high tea is available for the under 12's with ribbon sandwiches, sausage-in-a-blanket, butterfly cake, ginger cookie and exploding spider with a milk shake, while in the corner is a toy box with a pretend high tea for a dress rehearsal before the real thing.

High teas aside, pop in any time for a Devonshire tea, some cakes, petit fours or chocolates and a dainty cup of one of the 30 brands of tea on offer, including red, black, white and flavoured.
