

Sharing a secluded riverfront site with a century old lime acetate factory (now Hans smallgoods) and occupying one of its heritage buildings is arguably the freshest best value seafood outlet this side of the river (if not Brisbane).
Raptis Seafoods, an arm of the Sydney Fish Market retailer, takes much of its produce from the trawlers that arrive daily from the bay. Buy fish filleted or whole, with prices such as whole Atlantic salmon for 17.99/kg or whole snapper 15.99/kg. As well you can pick up ready prepared seafood such as kebabs to take home or barbecue at the nearby beachfront reserve.
History buffs may be interested to know that this was also the site of Brisbane’s Bubonic Plague hospital which was hastily constructed here in 1900 and where hundreds of patients were treated during its brief period of operation.
