Secreted within the M on Mary complex, Shabuhouse is a stunning Japanese Korean fusion restaurant that offers the best value refined dining to be had in the entire city.

Take the lift or stairs from the street to a world of mood lighting, gleaming blonde wood, screens of pot plants, Asian techno pop and fresh delicate cuisine.

In keeping with the name all the tables are set for shabu shabu, a Japanese traditional hotpot which is cooked on a hotplate at the table from a platter of fresh ingredients and sauces, the result being a refined and delicious meal.

For those who’d rather not prepare their own, the rest of the menu features a fantastic selection of soups including katsobushi (dried fish)and konbu (radish and seaweed), donburi, tempura, teritaki, curries, sashimi and sushi, most coming in at under $10 per plate.

Perhaps the best value of all though is the set lunch, when patrons can dine like an emperor for under $15.
