From the road Warrigal Square looks like every other suburban drive-in shopping centre but its concrete mall is a slice of Asia with a Malaysian bakery, Singaporean, Japanese and Chinese restaurants, and tucked away at the back, the best of the bunch and sibling of the CBD Madtongsan eateries - Madtongsan III.
A stark modern space with stencil art on the back wall, M3 gets packed with Korean diners who come for their fix of authentic food from a menu that runs the gamut of traditional dishes: Bulgogi (marinated barbecue beef stir-fried) , Bi Bim Bap (mixed rice and vege cooked in a stone pot, Steam Boat, Korean BBQ, noodle soups, stir fries and sizzling hot plates and a selection of Korean liquor – plum and wild berry wine, rice wine, lemon and cucumber soju and popular Cass and Hite beers.
Highly recommended are the Kimchi Jeon (spicy kimchi pancakes with dipping sauce), Gye Ran Jjim (delicate steamed egg and spring onion in a hot pot) and Soon Doo Bu Ji Gae (spicy soft tofu, seafood, pork & vege soup with raw egg - the latter cooks itself deliciously in the stone pot during eating).
