Three things stand out about this gem of an Indian diner – the menu variety, the superior food quality and the uber attentive service.
Yet sequestered as it is in an unremarkable drive-up shopping centre on busy Sandgate Rd, noone but savvy locals would ever pick this as one of Brisbane’s best Indian dining experiences.
With a menu that draws a lot on the delicate Moghlai (Moghul) cooking style with its rich creamy flavours, it also reaches into the far flung areas of India and beyond, with Punjabi street food, delicious Papadi Chat from Delhi, Manchurian dishes (from Chinatown Calcutta), Fiji Goat Curry and Parsi wedding favourites such as Patrani Fish, a succulent marinated fish steamed in banana leaves.
Vegetarians and vegans are well looked after with separate sections devoted to each and there’s also a small children’s menu with starter Indian dishes like separately prepared super mild butter chicken and rice. High chairs and tolerant and patient staff add to the family friendliness.
Service is a well-oiled machine, with staff that care and know their stuff and so well executed is the food that there is none of the boulder-stomach after effects that usually follow an Indian meal.
