Mid Range
 Few things can match sitting on the wide brick verandah under the London Woolstores on a balmy summer night and partaking in the superb Pan Asian cuisine of Grasshopper.
Flanked by an elegant wine and tapas bar on one side and a bustling Italian gelataria and English style lounge bar on the other, it also happens to be ideally located in the centre of Teneriffe’s wine and dining precinct.
Beyond location though the food is the star, with a fusion of Japanese, Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese dishes all perfectly executed and stylishly presented. The entrée tasting platter which features samples of all of the above is highly recommended as are the divine Thai curries, the spring Saigon chicken with quail eggs and the melt-in-the-mouth six hour braised beef cheeks with lotus root, mushrooms and broccolini and even the rice is perfectly cooked without an ounce of the usual glug to be found.
With entrees averaging $11 and mains ranging from $18-$29 it’s a little more expensive than Asian tends to be but the superior quality of the food more than justifies it.
