Restaurants have come and gone on Racecourse Rd but Baguette remains, firmly entrenched in the psyche of locals and regulars who can no longer remember when it wasn’t there. And perhaps the key to its longevity has been its ownership by the same family who have ensured its quality has endured.

A stone’s throw from Eagle Farm’s Federation sentry boxes, this chic bar and bistro with a French flavour welcomes a drop in for a coffee or a glass of wine or a three course meal. The menu items are largely French classics – charcuterie plates, bisque, soufflés and crepes as entrees and mains featuring lapin (rabbit), canard (duck),ragout and steak frites.

Unlike many restaurants of this calibre children are most welcome and have a special menu of 3 choices including steak, crepe or fish which is charged at $1.50 per year of age up until 12.

*BYO wine is possible but it’d better be a fabulous vintage as corkage is charged at a rate of $6 per head.
