The Butcher Coffee Shop
1/253 Sibley St
Wynnum West
Lindum Station
Daily 6-1

There's little to show for the old butcher shop that used to occupy this space except for a wall-mounted vintage meat cleaver – otherwise it's morphed into a homey espresso stop that serves the best cup of coffee in this neck of the mangroves.

Nick the congenial manager is a wiz with the di Bella coffee beans (house blend or single origin Brazilian) he uses and his killer coffees come with options of Mars bar or Nutter flavours or a caramel chai. For a breakfast on the run punters can also grab a ham and cheese toastie, delish fruit and nut toast, sandwiches, cookies or daily baked giant muffin while the lunch deal is any sandwich and a coffee for $10.

There are a line-up of stools at the counter, some seats outside, or, to settle in with the paper, a vintage lounge out back.
