Where once there was a general store in every neighbourhood today it seems there’s a roastery. Single origin, fair trade, coffee bean blend – suddenly there’s a multiple choice exam to pass in order to get a caffeine fix.
And no place is too obscure for the enterprising baristas that brew these locally roasted beans – hallways of heritage buildings, derelict warehouses in unmarked laneways, laundrettes, inside boutiques, atop and underneath bridges.
The result being a decent coffee to be had no matter the location, from the CBD and inner city to the north, south, east, west and bay.
