Cutting a solitary figure in the middle of residential Moray St, Little Larder is a bright mod little café that serves a mean all day breakfast and good coffee. And with its early opening times it’s early-riser-friendly.

Sit outside under the awning or inside under the patchwork of artworks around the walls and partake in the Breakfast of Champions – pancakes, maple syrup & banana or the scrummy Eggs Benedict. Servings are not huge and it can take a while to pay at the counter on weekends but during the week things are more mellow.

Either way it’s worth the walk away from the village centre, not least because Moray St is home to some of New Farm’s more fetching art deco villas and Victorian mansions.
