This folksy gluten free organic café could hardly be more of a contrast to its next door neighbour – a pub that promotes bikini girls – and in fact sits at odds with most of the Alderley Shopping Centre across the road.
With its oil painting and flyer adorned walls and country music it is a welcome laid back retreat from the traffic thoroughfares outside. Better still the nurturing food on offer, despite being gluten free and perhaps because it is organic, is delicious. Walnut paste ‘sausage’ rolls, ricotta spinach and pumpkin lasagne, spelt sticky date pudding and date loaf and gluten-free brownies complement meat dishes such as hamburgers and lasagne and the coffee (Earth) is an organic free trade blend.
With a large scuffed pine communal table, high chair and plenty of space between tables it happens to be family and child friendly too.
