A feather's throw from the Woolloongabba's Logan Rd Antique Quarter and the Gabba Cricket Ground one of Brisbane's most gorgeous cafés, Foxy Bean resides in a cluster of quaint Federation era shops.

Since its start as the tiny converted shop on a corner Foxy has grown up and expanded into a trio of stunning stencil art and pastel VJ walled rooms with original dark timber fretwork trimmings. The main room features a pressed metal bar watched over by a taxidermy fox, baskets of hanging ferns, a worn leather chesterfield and a scattering of leather armchairs, and a couple of woven leather bay window seats. To one side a dining annexe has a live green wall of vines and out back is a sunny courtyard.

And not only is this one of the most splendidly decked out venues to be found but the food alone is worth crossing town for – excellent Genovese coffee, a superb breakfast menu (the Bushman's Bennie – savoury mince topped with eggs benedict and hollandaise sauce served on sour dough - is to die for) The lunch menu revives the old favourites from when Foxy was a small lassie and adds a few more – Five Spiced pork belly, bangers'n'mash, steak sandwich and grilled piri piri pumpkin skewers. And those who don't have time to partake in the pleasure of dining in can take a bit of Foxy away with them in the form of Turkish toasties and daily specials such as quiches.

At close of week, by night Foxy Bean morphs into a groovy tapas bar that also offers delish mains or a selection of canapes available in fixed price combos of savoury, gourmet and dessert.

Prospective café patrons should note that there is a designated parking zone on Stanley St East directly outside the café and not be intimidated by lane-greedy fellow motorists into not stopping there.
