An unassuming shopfront belies the outstanding little café that sits within. Then again understatement is what Cirque is about, from its worn polished floors and simple wooden tables with their slender vases to the service which is unobtrusive yet spot on. Like the stunning wallpaper in shades of red and burgundy that lines one wall the food packs a punch, in particular the breakfasts which are available all day.

In fact there are few better cafes in Brisbane to have breakfast, be it alone or with a group of hung over friends. Grab a newspaper and hide at one of the small downstairs tables or gather at one of the communal tables and tuck into a to-die-for omelette and Genovese coffee or Bloody Mary whilst playing one of the table games found stacked in the alcove.
