Painting of a naked man inside Cafe BouquinisteStrung out on a lonely stretch of Merthyr Road is this cosy old shop whose inside resembles a shabby lounge room within a library. And there’s nary a space on the walls whose every inch are covered with book shelves, paintings, etchings, posters, shawls and scarves and amongst it all, by the counter, is a clipboard with dog-eared menu.

This is a real space to sink onto one of the old couches and chill with a pot of tea, a Merlo coffee or one of the all-day breakfast items such as pesto scrambled eggs and read a book or watch the host of eccentric characters stream in and out, occasionally stopping on the way to serve someone.
