There's no place like home and there's no place like Our Place bar in the Valley. Enter through the white picket fence, walk under a line of washing, locate the dimly lit bar festooned with teapots and the odd garden gnome and you've arrived.

Once inside the 1970's parents home party vibe to make all bar patrons feel like teenagers kicks in – downstairs are floral armchairs, book shelves standard lamps, the compulsory brown leather couch and a brick-walled courtyard out back with crates for smokers. Opening after 10 upstairs is a kind of Dad's bar lounge with framed pictures of David Hasselhoff and Audrey Hepburn, a Pac Man machine, Chesterfield and more family and rumpus room furniture.

Drink-wise the house specialty is the alcoholic teapot, with Earl Gray – Chambord, Cointreau, cranberry and lime, and English Breakfast – absinthe, licor 43, apple and lime , leading the charge along with Grandma's Hard Lemonade while for something lighter a mix of craft and commercial beer and wine are available.

Live acoustic entertainment is also a feature and, for those who hang out till dawn, pancakes and coffee.
